- Nicholas Abi-Samra serves as the Principal at Electric Power and Energy Co. and as Senior Technical Director at Worley, in addition to his teaching role at UC San Diego. His career spans significant positions including being a Westinghouse Fellow and Manager, Senior Technical Executive at EPRI, Senior Manager at Accenture, Vice President at Quanta Technology, and Senior Vice President at DNV GL. He has authored two books and authored/co-authored over 150 academic publications. He developed sixteen advanced courses in power engineering. Additionally, Abi-Samra has been actively involved in leadership roles within the IEEE Power & Energy Society, including chairing its 2012 General Meeting and leading it and IEEE societies in San Diego for several years.
Interview GoalThis call will focus on Power grid modernization. Call topics will be on the need to modernize Europe’s transmission and distribution grids, the required capex / RAB growth, major beneficiaries, the power grid supply chain including technology providers, and cable manufacturers
